A frosty Saturday morning quickly warmed up by the afternoon, with temperatures climbing into the low to mid-60s across much of the Northland—right around what’s typical for early May, when average highs range from the upper 50s to lower 60s.
Milder temperatures will stick around for Sunday, with highs similar to today, reaching the upper 50s to low and mid 60s. However, another round of cold air is on the way, arriving Tuesday and lingering for a few days afterward.
Temperatures across much of the Northland jumped by an impressive 35 to 45 degrees this afternoon compared to this morning.

- Ashland, WI: 25
Note: This morning, Hibbing and Ashland were just 2 degrees shy of matching their record low temperature for May 2nd.
A cold front will roll into the Northland late this afternoon, bringing clouds and a few light showers. The radar might seem more intense than what’s actually reaching the ground, but a few scattered showers could still pop up through late tonight.
Sunday looks dry, with another round of showers possible Sunday night into Monday morning as yet another cold front moves through.
