Expect rain Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, mainly south of northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. Duluth and most of the Northland should remain dry.
Southern Minnesota and central to southern Wisconsin are expected to receive the heaviest rainfall from Tuesday night through Wednesday.
Rain chances in the Northland could increase Thursday.
Although the primary warm front will stay well to the south, one or two disturbances moving east-southeast just north of it could bring showers and thunderstorms on Thursday or Friday. The exact timing and locations remain uncertain.

A vigorous weather system is sweeping across Saskatchewan and Manitoba today, prominently visible in water vapor satellite imagery.

A drier air mass is advancing southward and eastward across the Northland this afternoon following last night’s storms, with precipitable water values decreasing to approximately 0.8 inches in north-central Minnesota, while a significantly more humid airmass, exhibiting values of 1.5 inches or higher, remains across regions farther to the east.
This afternoon, a cold front (marked in blue) has moved south and east of the Northland. Later this week and into the weekend, it is expected to drift slightly north. While it will mostly remain south of our area, it could come close enough at times to bring scattered showers and thunderstorms.
