A cold front will move south across our region tonight, followed by a strong high-pressure system settling over Ontario. This will bring gusty northeast winds near Lake Superior from late tonight through Monday, with gusts expected between 15 and 30 mph.
Although most of the Northland is expected to remain dry over the next few days, areas near Lake Superior could experience occasional brief showers. This is due to temperatures aloft cooling to around +0 to +4°C on Sunday and Monday, while lake water temperatures remain between +12 and +15°C. The resulting temperature contrast may trigger a few lake-effect rain showers during this period near Lake Superior.
Over the past few days, a strong mid- and upper-level system has been over the Pacific Northwest. It is now moving into the central and northern Rockies and will continue east-northeastward, gradually weakening. This system is not expected to bring any rain to northeast Minnesota or northwest Wisconsin.

Today, temperatures across the Northland hovered in the low to mid-60s, close to typical mid-September values. Expect similar conditions over the next few days, with slightly cooler temperatures near Lake Superior due to the strengthened northeast flow off the lake.
