Today’s forecast played out pretty accurately, with the heaviest rain falling over the western parts of the area, where reports showed between half an inch and over an inch earlier today. Farther east, the rainfall was much lighter, totaling only a trace to less than 0.1 inches.

It’s amazing to watch the rain slowly disappear as it moves toward Lake Superior and northwest Wisconsin this afternoon.

Scattered showers will stick around in the Northland tonight, bringing a trace to 0.1 inches of rain. Dry weather is expected on Friday, but some showers may pop up between Saturday and early Sunday, with timing and location still a bit uncertain.

Note: Areas of fog are forecast to form over parts of the Northland tonight and linger into Friday morning.
