In the coming days, an intensifying upper-level low and trough will move southeastward from Ontario toward the Great Lakes region. This system is anticipated to bring cooler temperatures through Saturday, with the primary phase of showers happening tonight into Friday.

As colder air passes over the warmer waters of Lake Superior, lake effect rain showers are anticipated tonight and into Friday. The majority of these showers are expected along the South Shore of Lake Superior due to the northerly winds. However, there’s a possibility that some showers may reach further west towards the Twin Ports and up the North Shore later tonight and Friday if the winds shift to the northeast.
