- A Frost Advisory is in effect for all of northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin on Thursday morning until 9 AM. Temperatures as low as 33 degrees are expected, leading to the formation of frost.

Hibbing, MN: 27 set in 2006 and 2009
Duluth, MN: 30 set in 1917
It seems there won’t be any new low-temperature records in the Northland Thursday morning, but it will still be chilly with temperatures in the 30s. Normal lows for late May are mostly in the lower 40s.
Temperatures this spring, beginning March 1st, are averaging approximately 1 to 3 degrees warmer than usual across the Northland. Please refer to the statistics provided below.
- International Falls, MN: +2.6 degrees above normal
- Hibbing, MN: +2.2 degrees above normal
- Cass Lake, MN: +2.2 degrees above normal
- Cloquet, MN: +2.0 degrees above normal
- Duluth, MN: +1.8 degrees above normal

In Duluth, 49% of the days this spring (thru May 20th) have been warmer than average, while 46% of the days have been colder than average.

A warmer weather pattern appears to be developing in the Northland next week, potentially pushing temperatures well into the 70s by mid to late week, with the possibility of some areas reaching the 80s.

The remainder of this month appears to be relatively dry in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin, with only a few isolated showers expected this weekend. However, no significant or widespread rain events are indicated by the computer models for at least the next seven days.
