Freeze and frost alerts are in effect for early Monday morning across northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. Temperatures are expected to drop into the upper 20s to around 30 degrees in areas under the freeze warning, while those under the frost advisory will see lows in the low to mid-30s.
Early Monday morning in Duluth, temperatures are expected to dip between 33 and 37 degrees, with some frost likely, especially inland from Lake Superior. The likelihood of frost decreases closer to the lake.
So far this fall, the lowest temperature in Duluth has been 37 degrees, recorded on October 2.
A few isolated showers popped up this afternoon over parts of northeast Minnesota and far northern Wisconsin, but the rain hasn’t been significant. These spotty showers are expected to fade away by mid to late evening.

A warm front moving east from western Minnesota could bring showers to parts of the Northland late Monday afternoon into the evening. These showers will be supported by a strengthening southwest low-level jet reaching up to 35 knots, along with warm air and moisture advection.
Most of the Northland is expected to see less than 0.1 inches of rain Monday evening, though some spots could get a bit more.
The upper Midwest will see northwest winds aloft this week, but forecasts show a shift to southwest winds aloft by next weekend. This change could bring a stretch of active weather late next weekend or early the following week, along with warmer temperatures, with highs possibly climbing into the 70s and even low 80s across much of the Northland next Saturday and Sunday.
