A nearly stationary frontal boundary extending from the western High Plains to eastern Upper Michigan will serve as the focus for several rounds of showers and thunderstorms over the next few days.
Tonight, most of the rain should remain south of the Northland; however, as the boundary gradually shifts north later this week into early next week, there will be an increased chance of rain in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin at times over the Labor Day weekend.
For Duluth and Superior: Early Wednesday morning may bring a few light showers, but overall conditions should stay mostly dry through Thursday afternoon. The chance of showers and thunderstorms increases Thursday night and is expected to persist into early next week. There is also a chance of fog near Lake Superior later this week into the weekend, as east winds strengthen just north of the southern boundary—a setup similar to what we experienced this past weekend.
